⇨Dispute in the MRT hey pplz, i must really blog abt the incident which i witnessed this morning. i wuld say it was wierd. i board the mrt like any other usual day to work at ard 7+am. my train was in the direction heading towards pasir ris. during the initial journey, i noticed 2 indian girls who were seated in front of me as they were talking & giggling v loudly. their actions were also v big as if to draw attention fr the ppl in the cabin. it was rather distracting bcos i culd still hear them as i was enjoying my mp3 music. they looked like they are ard my age. it was until buona vista whn i saw one of the girls taking out an old chang kee plastic carrier fr her bag , she actually pulled out the curry puff till it was abt halfway shown fr the plastic. it seemed to me she was in an attempt to eat her food but was "finding the right time" perhaps to shield fr the public view first. i was like.... "what the hell is she trying to do? don't tell me she's gg to eat tt curry puff?? right there??" alright, she didn't eat at tt moment. it was until the train rched the other station (commonwealth) tt her friend came in and the 3 fellows were happily chatting. i closed my lids to rest my eyes till i smelt the curry puff. yes.. i opened my eyes & what happened next really shocked me. she started munching on tt curry puff, in fact, gobbled a few big bites.. oh my god! what culd be worse was tt she actually shared her food among her friends! (they were happily eating & laughing away). their actions were slow enough tt b4 they culd finish the entire puff, an old malay uncle came towards them and chided the girl. i heard sth like: "hey girl, i saw u eating fr juz nw. why are u eating? this is the train, ur food will dirty the place. you stop eating now." and the girl was so stunned, she didn't do anything. then the uncle repeated again: "i say stop eating! u stop eating now, NOW!!" i saw the girl holding her food in her hands afterthat. after the 2nd warning, the uncle became so hot tempered or rather "buay tahan" bcos the girl didn't keep the food in her bag. the uncle came again. this time round, he sounded extremely harsh: " HEY I TOLD YOU TO STOP EATING! THIS IS THE TRAIN, YOU THINK BOMBAY?? THIS IS NOT BOMBAY! YOU IDIOT, (den he repeated 3 times). blah blah blah....." and the girl scolded back while holding on to the food. "YOU CALL THIS EATING? WHAT DO YOU WANT?" and both of them started quarreling, pointing fingers at each other, practically raising their voices all the way. everyone stared. even ppl fr other cabins. it created such a big commotion. the uncle kept going on abt it and the way the girl retaliated was really like ah lian. the uncle went to the extent of trying to challenge her physically cos i heard sth like" YOU NOT HAPPY YOU STAND UP, YOU STAND HERE, WE SETTLE ON THE SPOT." i also heard certain melayu words which sounded like vulgarities. it was until a gentleman came forward to block the uncle & dragged him out at redhill station tt everything came under control. phew! what a scene.. alrite, my views regarding this incident. ahem.. its not tt i wanna criticise these races but somehow i feel tt they use their butts to think. does action really solve everything? true enough, tt girl's action was kinda an idiot but the uncle was no difference. he actually turned physical towards a girl. how can?? what has the world becomes? but im sure, these are just the minorities? ok ppl, so tt's the end of the story, i shan't bore u further. till then. :)
