⇨21stJuly - The day my dad fell ill.
rmb my prev post i mentioned abt my dad's fever? his temperature kept gg up (ard 38-39.8deg cel), it didn't subside since sunday (the day he fell ill). we were so worried, even he was afraid as well, he felt sth's nt right at some parts of his body. see doc again ytd aftn, the doc advised him to do a blood test at SGH. finally, my fam & i acc him there last night.
first time at SGH's A & E dept. lemme say, the feeling is just nt right. actually b4 we went dwn, i alr gt a bad feeling tt my dad might hv to b warded overnight. cos erm thr was an infection somewhr (nt convenient to mention here) & tt his temp was so high. we rched SGH at ard 8.20pm, made a registration and waited outside the clinics. was told to put on a mask & had our temp checked. atmosphere was so tensed then. we were at the fever zone but strangely enough, majority of the patients thr looked fine. (so i was wondering to myself why go to A&E if u're ok?)
we waited for abt an hr or so b4 my dad was called in by a doc. throughout the entire night, we were so worried & i was really upset (seeing my dad's sick yet he stil put up a "nothing's wrong with me" front, makes my heart ache. he hardly described his feelings & he even asked me nt to acc him as i need to wrk the nxt day.) alright & the result? he could go hm!! there's no nid to be hospitalised!! phew, at tt moment, i was lyk.......... the pressure in my heart suddenly disappeared. i felt totally relieved! (: doc prescribed him a stronger antibiotic & gave him 3 days mc. his fever was caused by urinary tract infection.
overall, after this incident, ive learnt to treasure my loved ones more. the feelings of knowing ur dear ones' sick & u see him suffering in silent yet u could only watch & pray, is sth terrible & painful. i dun want tt to happen again. so im telling myself to spend more time w my parents fr nw onwards & to look after their health as well. (:
