    Sunday, April 18

i'm beginning to miss nvc again, though it has only been 3days since i left the place. cant find any reason not to miss this workplace cause it is where i started tour guiding.

it is no doubt in anyone's mindset that newater is dirty water, or for some extent, it is named after "sai zui" - dialect substitute for "shit water". hahas.. yes, it is true, literally but have you ever given a second thought about this amazing technology we have here as a means to supplement our water sources to a country like us where we are actually facing water scarcity? how about comparing ourselves to some rural parts of countries like india or china will we then appreciate the anatomy behind water reuse technology?

alright enough of my crap or reasonings about water topics. and pardon me for i've been greatly influenced by the entire water structure in singapore due to the exposure from PUB during my course of work. hahas..
i've uploaded a few pictures taken recently at newater, i'm gonna share with everyone here. :)

this newater fountain is at the entrance of the visitor centre. is it nice?

the small exhibition area at level one tour allocations for us tour guides! :)

    yea..

the messy office - those are the mipros that we use for tours. (the black boxes lookalike speakers and mic)

me & serena pointing at the tour time

eric & i (our wonderful senior! he is pro at vip tours!) salute**

razik! (i'm gonna missed our gossiping sessions!)

    uncle herbert.. forever funny! hahas

from left: eric, zul, adeline & i. btw, zul is the vendor for nvc's cafe.

the staircase to entrance foyer, visitors' access to the second lvl.

this is the legendary entrance foyer! ~ here's where we start our tours

    (the auditorium)
"let's start off with a short clip entitled: waters of singapore. this will give you an overview of singapore's water management stories & the different steps and stages of the newater technology. "
    (the four taps plaza)
lemme introduce "wave", the virtual guide.here's what she'll say: " hello everyone, and welcome to the 4 taps plaza. here's where you'll see, well, you've guessed it, the 4 national taps - local catchment, imported water, newater & desalinated water..."

    (the waterwise arcade)
consists of many fun interactives, that includes this automate-simulated raft that virtually brings you to various waterways such as singapore river and macritchie reservoir.

aww... i'll never forget this map. that is to share with visitors the water sources, types and treatment facilities in singapore...

    next station: the ipu theatre
this is where we share about the 2 uses of newater: the indirect potable use and the direct non-potable use of newater..
the newater story is showcased on the media wall

the beautiful walk on newater underground fountain
    the newater factory experience
the RO vessels in the newater plant.

this reverse osmosis membrane is just like my "baby". i'm gonna missed touching it and so, i carried it to take picture!

what is ultraviolet disinfection? well look at the picture and you'll know! has

the actual control room for the technical officers/engineers.
after looking through these pictures, what are your thoughts about newater? do drop by the newater visitor centre at koh sek lim road for a guided tour anytime between tuesdays-sundays, 9am-5.30pm. admission is free of charge. for guided tours, just book online or call PUB for arrangements! for further enquiries, check out the website: www.pub.gov.sg/newater
    cheers! ~~ :)
