    Sunday, May 23

but i actually went back to nvc today! yes. newater visitor centre. ^^V

i guessed i missed this place too much. especially the colleagues. these bunch of people that i met during my days with sdc, can never be replaced.

well, i was in the east for something today and nvc was pretty near thus the reason for popping by.

herbert, eric and uncle martin were there. i reached the place at 3pm, just in time to follow herbert & eric's tours.

what happened this afternoon was like this: upon arrival at nvc, i alighted from the bus, walked down the pathway, into the office. put my bag on my fav chair, said hi to uncle martin and opened the fridge to get myself a bottle of newater. i went up to the gallery by the lift, stood behind eric's and herbert's tours as though i was there to assist the tour & to ensure everything was fine (like what i used to do). the tours ended, i went down. opened the packets of newater bottle and began to distribute to the guests. a boy came up to me, asking for newater merchandise, followed by an angmoh family asking me how to go about joining the tour. i answered to all of their queries from my prior knowledge naturally. (yes, i wasn't in newater uniform, i was wearing a dress, a denim jacket and sandals) but for the entire moment, everything seemed so familiar. i did whatever i did, naturally & instinctively, totally oblivious to the fact that i had already resigned or i no longer worked there.

it felt so overwhelming, or rather, a feeling i find it hard to explain. a job which i used to enjoy so much has become a history now. although i may be earning more, gaining more knowledge, skills, workload and exposure somewhere else, at the end of the day, i may not be happier.

perhaps the theory of "the greener pasture" is not always true.
